Alfalfa school reunion planned for April 7
Caddo County residents will get an early start on this year's reunion activities in a few weeks, thanks to the efforts of the Alfalfa School Alumni group. The alumni will be holding their 2023 Alfalfa School Reunion on Friday, April 7.
"This is our first reunion since the pandemic, so we are trying to get the word out," said Jolene Snow, who is helping organize the reunion. "We're hoping we can reach out and let anyone who attended or was affiliated with the school to attend."
The reunion will get started at noon with a registration session. The registration/get reacquainted session will be held in Southwestern Oklahoma State University's Student Union Ballroom. Those wishing to pre-register for the event can do so by mail by sending a check or money order for $25 by March 20 to: Jolene Snow, P.O. Box 302, Eakly, OK, 73033.
Following registration, those attending the event will be served lunch, as well as participate in an introduction ceremony, as well as entertainment.
The Alfalfa Public School building was completed in 1938 as part of the Works Progress Administration. The school operated until 1991 when it consolidated with the Carnegie Public School district.
The town of Alfalfa is located about 8 miles north of Carnegie on Highway 58. The community was originally named Boise, but was later renamed Alfalfa so as to avoid confusion with Boise City.
